Wage Subsidy

The Wage Subsidy Service provides temporary funding to eligible employers to subsidize the wages of unemployed, eligible candidates who have been identified as needing work experience.

A Wage Subsidy must provide a full-time position of a minimum of 35 hours per week, paying reasonable wages that are reflective of the prevailing wage rate of the occupation in the local labour market. It should offer the likelihood of long-term employment or provide needed work experience to enable candidates to achieve long-term employment elsewhere.

Contact WorkBC Duncan, Ladysmith or Cowichan Lake for more information on the Wage Subsidy Service.
